The midyear numbers for 2026 are in, showing an impressive continuation of the multi-year growth streak for races. On average, races grew 5.9%, and, for the first time since COVID, large races grew the most (8.2%).
Midyear Data Highlights:
The Market is Stable: Just 3.7% of 2025 races did not recur in 2026.
Young Adult Racers are Back: 21.8% of participants were between 18-29.
Prices are Still Rising: The average 10K price rose 3.7%, while the average marathon price is up 5.8% compared to last year.
Races must capture the running enthusiasm now, while participants are actively looking for events. Review all the latest numbers to evaluate how your race compares to the national trends.
